Location: 30 Chasely Street, Auchenflower QLD 4066 (The Wesley Hospital) Work type: Full Time (Permanent) 38 hours per week Schedule: The position is for a minimum of 76 hours per fortnight (Monday-Sunday) in a rotating 24-hour roster and will include weekend, public holiday and night shifts. Extra hours are occasionally available. About the role A position for a full-time Multi-disciplined Relieving Scientist is currently available with the opportunity to work across Metro Central Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and regional Stat Labs. Applicants shall possess an AIMS accredited Laboratory medicine degree with areas of study including Haematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Andrology and Immunohaematology. Specimen receipt and processing Use and maintenance of the following analysers: Beckman Coulter AU680, XN 1000, CA-660, ABL90 and 800, istat, Grifols Elecsys and DG reader, E411, Gene Xpert, Liat and Aerospray Perform seminal analysis Perform urine microscopy and other basic microscopy QC monitoring Participate in Internal and External surveys Liaison between other departments and external customers Previous experience is preferred About you To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements: Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent AIMS accredited degree Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within the respective discipline Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills The ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases Benefits and Wellbeing As part of working for Healius, you will have access to a range of benefits including: A marketplace of exclusive discounts and vouchers from leading Australian and online retailers.
