APG Workforce are currently seeking a Reliability & Maintenance Planner for our client based in Laverton, VIC.
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our manufacturing team operating on a 24/7 schedule.
The Maintenance Planner will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our facility by coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance planning within a manufacturing environment and be trade qualified and thrive in a fast-paced, continuous operation setting.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance schedules for all equipment and machinery, ensuring alignment with production requirements and maintenance priorities.Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to schedule planned maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to schedule work orders, track maintenance activities, and maintain accurate records of equipment history and maintenance performance.Spare Parts Management:Collaborate with procurement and inventory management teams to maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts and consumables required for maintenance activities.Identify critical spare parts and establish reorder levels to prevent stockouts and minimize downtime due to parts availability issues.Equipment Reliability and Performance:Analyze equipment performance data, including downtime records, breakdown frequencies, and maintenance costs, to identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and operational efficiency.Work closely with reliability engineers and maintenance technicians to implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies and optimize preventive maintenance schedules.Compliance and Safety:Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.Conduct regular audits and inspections of equipment to identify safety hazards, maintenance deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.Continuous Improvement:Participate in cross-functional teams focused on identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and overall operational performance.Actively contribute to the development and optimization of maintenance processes, procedures, and standards to drive operational excellence. Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment, preferably with 24/7 operations.Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles, including preventive maintenance strategies, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and condition-based maintenance (CBM).Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications.Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, high-demand environment.Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles.Certification in maintenance planning or related field (e.g., Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional - CMRP) preferred.Use of MEX system Experience in manufacturing industry or poultry experience highly regarded
