Our Portland Smelter is looking for suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis.
Working Monday through Friday, with one leisure day off every four-week period.
Your role as a Reliability Engineer will be challenging and diverse, and require a strong customer focus to support our operations in the following:
Contribute to improvements in equipment reliability and plant capacity. Provide single point accountability for engineering support in the day-to-day operations. Lead root cause analysis investigation of failures. Develop work scopes for major equipment repairs using fitness for service approaches. Use a suite of reliability approaches to develop and improve equipment management strategies. Promote and demonstrate commitment to Environment, Health and Safety in the workplace. A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, with previous experience in maintenance, reliability, heavy industry or plant engineering. An understanding of risk management, quality improvement and reliability excellence processes. The ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation with a customer centric mentality. A track record in pro-active problem solving with your use of initiative and a desire to continuously improve business performance. An ability to prioritise a high workload and persevere through daily challenges. Additional information Interviews may progress prior to the closing, although all applications will be considered.

About the Location Our Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%).
Alcoa manages the day-to-day operations at the smelter, producing approximately 19 percent of Australia's total aluminium production in Portland.
