Alchemy Recruitment is currently assisting a leading mining owner operator in Coal who are looking for a Reliability and Planning Superintendent to work in an open cut coal mine located in the Mackay Coal Fields.
About the role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is based on site and will lead a diverse team of technical professionals in delivering a broad range of activities for the site.
You can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

Lead a team of Maintenance Planners and Reliability Engineers to develop, implement and manage a plant reliability improvement system;
Work closely with Operations and Maintenance Engineering to promote continuous improvement;
Be proactive in finding high priority issues and coming up with efficient fixes to prevent reoccurrence;
Support the maintenance superintendents in maintaining the plant to a high standard;
Assist in moving from reactive to preventative maintenance.

What are we looking for?
The experience and skillset best suited to this position includes:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
7 - 10 years in a similar role in a mining/mineral processing plant or heavy industry with involvement in the maintenance functions;
Proven ability to make significant improvements to equipment reliability, plant downtime, and maintenance costs;
The ability to steer a maintenance team to improve practice;
The ability to analyse equipment failures and provide recommendations.
