Seeking an experienced Release and Deployment Lead for a fixed-term role available until 30 June 2026.Opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service.The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an experienced Release and Deployment Lead to provide a critical role within Technology Solutions and Data Security.
About the Business Unit The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
Technology Solutions and Data Security is delivering the Data and Digital Reform Agenda, which focuses on meeting the department's data and digital needs by providing responsive and sustainable services focused on supporting departmental outcomes.
Technology Solutions and Data Security explores and employs technology to enable the department's business function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded project; and oversees the delivery of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex.
About the Role The Release and Deployment Lead will be assigned to large ICT programs/projects working within the Release & Environment practice and responsible for managing all release related activities, from planning to execution and delivering associated deliverables. The role will place emphasis on quality processes across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
This role will work closely with the Testing, DevOps and Change & Engagement practices to ensure expected quality criteria is satisfactorily achieved and will deliver functionality and features into pre-production and production environments in line with agile ways of working in a dynamic project environment.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Expert knowledge of, and demonstrated experience within a large ICT environment, focused on release and deployment planning, leading to successful program delivery and creating realised business value.Good knowledge of, and experience in leading/utilising/participating in a range of methodologies and skills (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, ITIL, DevOps), including iterative, incremental and agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).Demonstrated experience in understanding the integration between various ITIL Service management disciplines and essentials for projects successfully transitions to operations.Relevant ICT tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience is preferred for this role.How to Apply Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
