Lead a small team that manages a range of contracts that support the delivery of effective public transport services across Tasmania. Build and foster strong collaborative working relationships within the team and with stakeholders to drive results and maximise outcomes. Monitor and undertake contract development, implementation, as well as performance and service reviews.This role will work on one or a combination of the following workstreams:• Ferry Contracts and Special Projects• General Access Contracts• School Bus Contracts

Duties Lead and co-ordinate team activities, this includes supervision, performance management, coaching and development and providing support and guidance that maintains a collaborative approach and a shared understanding of priorities and business goals. Plan workloads establish priorities and organize team resources. Be a key point of contact for a diverse group of contract operators and stakeholders across government, industry and the community. Manage effective working relationships, liaise and negotiate regularly and maintain open and constructive communication that is responsive, and actively identifies and resolves issues early. Exercising a significant level of autonomy with daily activities, proactively manage and oversee contracts throughout their lifecycle ensuring compliance with agreed performance requirements to ensure we achieve value for money and provide consistent quality for stakeholders and end users: Perform service reviews and manage significant performance issues.
Exercise initiative and judgement in the conduct of investigations and audits, and the negotiation and implementation of service variations.
Undertake project management and support as new requirements emerge.
Ensuring clear contract deliverables and business goals, undertake contract and procurement activities for high value contracts. This includes administration of contracts, negotiating terms and conditions, preparing detailed briefs and tender documentation, analysing and evaluating tenders, providing recommendations for contract selection and dispute resolution. Conduct research and analysis and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation including process and system enhancements to ensure contracts and performance are appropriately managed.
