About the role We are seeking a full-time ongoing Project Manager to join our growing team in Albury. You will be responsible for achieving the company's budget through the cost-effective management of the design, manufacture and supply of construction materials and services to allocated projects.
Qualifications, skills & experience A university degree in civil, geotechnical or structural engineering, construction or project management is required. An alternative degree or trade may also be considered when combined with sufficient construction and contracts experience relevant to our industry. Experience in civil engineering construction (roads, motorways, overpasses, retaining walls, bridges, rail, etc). Experienced in managing multiple projects and suppliers. Commercially astute, a competent negotiator and familiar with Construction Contracts. Familiar with the relevant Australian Standards and State Road and Rail Authority Specifications for structures, concrete, etc. Experienced in concrete specifications and precast concrete manufacturing. Competent in spoken and written English language and numeracy with assertive communication skills. Competent in planning, organising and problem solving. Competent in computer programs for word processing, spread sheets, project management, CAD, etc. Responsibilities Plan, organise and manage the delivery of the design, drawings, materials and services for allocated projects in accordance with the Management Procedures. Supervise, guide, advise, train and coach the Project Coordinators, and Site Supervisors allocated to you. Assist and advise the Project Team in the preparation of proposals and tenders on allocated projects. Assist and advise the Project Team in negotiating contracts for allocated projects. Read, understand and administer the Contract and to negotiate contract variations for allocated projects. Prepare and issue the Project Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans for allocated projects. Ensure that allocated projects are completed in accordance with the quality system. Engage and manage suppliers and subcontractors required to execute allocated projects. Arrange the procurement, security, delivery and maintenance of all moulds, mould liners, materials, tools and equipment necessary for allocated projects. Maximise our cost advantage by calling tenders and negotiating supply and transportation agreements for the project. Maintain the contact and project databases, project files, accurate records and prepare reports as required. Prepare and approve for issue Payment Claims and Tax Invoices, ensuring that the Progress Claim Forecast is accurate. Act as Project Coordinator, Construction Advisor or Site Supervisor when required. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol assessment.
