Compliance Operating in the chemical industry is linked to many regulatory requirements, rules, and standards which are in place to ensure chemical products are safe and that the risks to health, safety, and the environment are as low as possible. It is the role of the Regulatory Coordinator to keep track of the ever-changing legislation found in all States and Territories in which we market our products. This role also advises on legal and scientific restraints and requirements to the business. The results of this work and most well-known output of this role is the Safety Data Sheets (SDS's).
Upcoming Goals The Global Compliance Team is currently moving from several different SDS authoring software systems to a single, consolidated system to provide more consistent regulatory documentation and better enable us to take care of customer needs and expectations.
The Opportunity This role is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and motivated professional to join our Team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with our US Head office Compliance Team, the Regulatory Coordinator will ensure that documentation and procedures are in place to protect the business. This role will be the champion for ongoing development, implementation and review of our best practice safety culture and systems. Travel between sites as required.
Duties include: Develop & execute OH&S systems in line with legislative requirementsLead the OH&S committee to implement continuous improvementConduct audits, workplace inspections, incident investigations & other safety related functionsLiaise & maintain professional working relationships with regulatory bodiesOversee the company licences for each stateInvolvement in company ISO audits, reporting and proceduresMaintain regulatory records, manage and update regulatory system data in various databasesReview new product introductions for compliance with relevant regional regulatory requirements including authoring Safety Data SheetsMonitor regulatory activity and identify non-compliance issues or risksCooperate closely with R&D, Procurement and Operations to ensure that marketed chemical products remain in compliance with local, regional, international and Company regulatory requirementsProactively support communications with our affiliates and distributors about the regulatory status of our products and regulatory trends that may impact the businessAbout You The successful applicant will have proven experience and a comprehensive knowledge of OH&S legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment. An Applied Science or Safety related degree/diploma or at least 5 years' experience in a similar role. Experience in OH&S, with chemical industry experience coupled with the following:
Experienced in negotiating contracts with a high level of attention to detail, superior communication skills and the ability to drive change.Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement efforts and corrective actionsWorking knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 experienceProficient in Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Dynamics (D365)Must be willing to be on the front line of implementation and changeA professional and positive demeanorKnowledge on Safety Data Sheets authoring systems a definite plus combined with chemical safety assessments and SDS and chemical product label authoringProven ability to identify regulatory issues and is solution orientatedThis is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and motivated individual seeking an opportunity to join a highly regarded and reputable company.
