Registry Officer, MC Coroners Registry
Full-time PermanentDetails: The ACT Coroners Team is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented MC Coroners Registry Officer to join our team. This role is vital in providing high-quality administrative support to the Coroner's Court, assisting with the coronial investigation process, and delivering essential client services. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Coroner, police, medical professionals, and members of the public, ensuring the smooth operation of the court and the effective management of sensitive case materials.
As an MC Coroners Registry Officer, you will administratively manage case files, assist with processing documentation, handle telephone and face-to-face inquiries, and provide in-court support. You will be required to maintain confidentiality and approach each task with sensitivity, professionalism, and compassion, particularly when dealing with families who are grieving or going through difficult times.

Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the Coroner's Court, including preparing and administratively managing case files, processing legal documents, and assisting with hearing matters.Communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including law enforcement, medical professionals, and the public, providing accurate information and guidance on coronial procedures.Handle sensitive information with discretion and care, adhering to relevant legislation and policy.Prioritize and manage your workload to meet deadlines while ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.Act as a key contact point for the public, providing support and updates to families during the investigation process.What You Need Professional Skills and Knowledge Well-developed administrative and client service skills.Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and use court-specific IT systems.Behavioural Capabilities Ability to develop positive relationships with stakeholders and work collaboratively with others.Capacity to manage time effectively, work independently, and meet deadlines under pressure.Sensitivity and emotional maturity in dealing with distressing or confronting case materials.Desirable Qualifications and Experience Previous experience in a court or legal environment is advantageous but not essential.Computer literacy, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new IT systems.Ability to manage and prioritize sensitive case information with confidentiality.Work Environment and Support
