POSITION PROFILE As Trainee Registrar of Public Health, you will work with the Public Health Physician and Goldfields Public Health Unit to develop and support projects in disease control and immunisation.
A key function of this position will be to liaise with a variety of stakeholders including hospital clinicians, general practitioners, regional public health teams, sexual health teams and Aboriginal community-controlled health services whilst running screening programs and managing disease outbreaks.
You will also be required to carry out epidemiological analysis, collaborate with Health promotion and Local Government to respond to other public health risks and provide education and advice to general practice, other health staff and community-based organisations in relation to public health issues such as environmental health and local government public health planning.
The successful applicant will work with a dynamic multidisciplinary public health team under the guidance of the Public Health Physician for the Goldfields Region. Particular issues include Trachoma, sexually transmitted diseases, TB and strong links with the NG Lands.
The position is accredited for Advanced Public Health Training with the RACP and has an active education program and strong culture of learning, research and academic achievement. ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY To be successful you will need to hold AHPRA registration and be eligible to enrol as an Advanced Trainee in the Australian Faculty of Public Health Medicine.
You will also need to have completed a Master of Public Health Medicine and have at least three years post-graduate medical experience.
