Registrar / Principal House Officer - Orthopaedics

The Orthopaedic team comprises the Clinical Director, 4.25FTE Staff Specialist, and 1FTE Senior Medical Officer (SMO), with subspecialty interests in arthroplasty, sports, foot and ankle, shoulder, spine, and hands.
We have one AOA SET trainee, 7 principal house officers (PHOs), 2 resident medical officers (RMOs), and 4 interns.
Medical students from the University of Queensland rotate through the Department.
We also have an Orthogeriatrician working alongside us.
Orthopaedic patients are admitted to the 44-bed surgical ward.
Our theatre complex comprises 5 operating theatres and 1 procedure room in Rockhampton and 3 operating theatres in Gladstone.About the role:Are you an Orthopaedic Registrar or PHO seeking real work-life balance, 300 days of sunshine, and outdoor adventures like camping, fishing, and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef?
Join our friendly Orthopaedic team at Rockhampton Hospital and help grow our services for Central Queensland.In this role, you'll assist senior staff with elective and trauma surgeries, clinics, teaching, audits, M&M meetings, and research.About you:Mandatory qualification/s: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at Level 3 supervision.If qualifications were obtained outside Australia, the candidate must be eligible for registration with AHPRA with the appropriate supervision level and provide the following:Evidence of successful completion of IELTS or equivalent English Language test results within the last year.Evidence of successful completion AMC MCQ (part 1) examination.Evidence of recency of clinical practice, supported by current references.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.What we offer:Salary information:Total remuneration value of up to $172,382 p.a.
is comprised of:A salary rate between $129,583 - $142,727 p.a.
(L4-L7).A salary rate between $129,583 - $150,240 p.a.
