Australia, TasOct 25, 2024 About the Tasmanian State ServiceThe Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.The Launceston General Hospital is currently recruiting for Paediatric Registrar jobs for 2025. With the implementation of the new EBA providing competitive wages and paid education time, there is no better time to work in Tasmania.We are a regional hospital with a brand new and exciting Paediatric short stay unit, a 34 bed General Paediatric ward, a 12 bed Level 2 neonatal nursery, and Paediatric outpatients. The unit is staffed 24 hours a day by registrars and HMO staff, with consultant oversight on site during working hours, and on call overnight. The current staffing includes 9 registrars/HMO, a Senior Registrar, and 7 paediatric consultants.We pride ourselves on being a supportive team, and you will be well supported in this position. The unit has an active education program and is accredited by the RACP for Advanced Training for General Paediatrics with a Perinatal Component, Community/Developmental Paediatrics, and Rural rotations. We are also a secondment site for basic trainees from the Royal Hobart Hospital, and if you are early in your career, this position will be a good springboard to gain experience prior to entering the RACP training program.Details of AppointmentFixed Term full time, day worker with on call position working 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours of guaranteed training time, commencing from 3 February 2025 until 6 February 2026.12 month full time contracts are preferred, but we are open to flexible conditions encompassing full time or part time positions, longer or shortened contracts.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $131,000 - $183,500 per annum, pro rata + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging and relocation assistance.Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.Enrolled in the relevant speciality training program.Current Working with Children Registration.*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:Registration as a candidate of the relevant learned college, or evidence of ongoing participation in and a commitment to continuing medical education.Successfully completed all fellowship examinations relevant to the training program and employment, and is within 1 year of obtaining specialist fellowship.The State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
