The Launceston General Hospital is currently recruiting for Senior Paediatric Registrar and Paediatric Registrar jobs for 2025! With the implementation of the new EBA providing competitive wages and paid education time, there is no better time to work in Tasmania.
We are a regional hospital with a brand new and exciting Paediatric short stay unit, as well as a 34 bed General Paediatric ward, 12 bed Level 2 neonatal nursery, and Paediatric outpatients. The unit is staffed 24 hours a day by registrars and HMO staff, with consultant oversight on site during working hours and on call overnight. The current staffing is 9 registrars/HMO, a Senior Registrar, and 7 paediatric consultants.
We pride ourselves on being a lovely supportive team, and you will be very well supported in this position. The unit has an active education program and is accredited by the RACP for Advanced Training for General Paediatrics with a Perinatal Component, Community/Developmental Paediatrics, and Rural rotations. We are also a secondment site for basic trainees from the Royal Hobart Hospital, and if you are early in your career, this position will be a good springboard to gain experience prior to entering the RACP training program.
Details of Appointment Fixed Term full-time, day worker with on-call position working 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours of guaranteed training time, commencing from 3 February 2025 until 6 February 2026.
12 month full-time contracts are preferred, but we are open to flexible conditions encompassing full-time or part-time positions, longer or shortened contracts.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time and part-time vacancies.Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $131,000 - $183,500 per annum, pro rata + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging and relocation assistance.
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.Essential Criteria: General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.Enrolled in the relevant speciality training program.Current Working with Children Registration.*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled, or has its conditions altered.
