This position will serve as a Medical Practitioner in the primary referral hospital for the region, which translates to encounters with high-acuity cases and a diverse range of clinical experiences. The maternity unit serves as the hub for birthing and inpatient maternity care, while antenatal and postnatal services are extended to the region. With around 1000 births annually, the unit boasts a team of skilled midwives. For high-risk births, collaboration with other hospitals in Tasmania is supported by local endocrinology and diabetic teams. Additionally, the unit is backed by a Level 4 Neonatal Unit and an 8-bed Level 4 Intensive Care Unit.
