WBA (work place based assessment) FacilityFull-time, working 80 hours per fortnightThe Position:An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a highly proficient department as Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar. This position will serve as a Medical Practitioner in the primary referral hospital for the region, which translates to encounters with high-acuity cases and a diverse range of clinical experiences.
The maternity unit serves as the hub for birthing and inpatient maternity care, while antenatal and postnatal services are extended to the region. With around 1000 births annually, the unit boasts a team of skilled midwives. For high-risk births, collaboration with other hospitals in Tasmania is supported by local endocrinology and diabetic teams. Additionally, the unit is backed by a Level 4 Neonatal Unit and an 8-bed Level 4 Intensive Care Unit.

The Facility:This 300-bed Tertiary Teaching Facility, renowned for its acute care capabilities, caters to over 24,000 inpatients and more than 225,000 outpatients each year. The bustling Emergency Department, equipped with 43 treatment beds, accommodates an annual influx of over 45,000 patients and maintains an admission rate of 35%. This accredited hospital maintains a close-knit partnership with the University of Tasmania through its clinical school.
