About the role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic RANZCOG trainee to join the team at Mater Mother's Hospital commencing in February 2025. The position offers exposure to general and high risk antenatal and intrapartum care as well as comprehensive general gynaecology and specialized areas of practice that include colposcopy, gynaecology oncology and advanced laparoscopic surgery. Non-training registrars of appropriate clinical experience will also be considered for this position. This role also provides interested candidates an opportunity to participate in the Mater Flying O&G Service, comprising week-long gynaecology-focused rotations delivering care to rural and regional Queensland. Please note, this is currently a 6-month position, however, opportunities may arise allowing extension to a full 12-month role.
You will be rotating through various aspects of tertiary-level antenatal and intrapartum care, as well as training in Queensland's busiest general gynaecology unit, providing ample opportunity to complete training requirements.

As the successful applicant you will be expected to be actively involved in these activities.
Term of after-hours: acting as the senior registrar allocated to labour ward with consultant supervision and oversight.1-2 terms of "Team allocation" involving ANC, caesarean sections, labour ward, gynaecology OPD, gynaecology theatre, early pregnancy clinic, pregnancy assessment centre, ward rounds and management of complex antenatal and postnatal inpatients. All Team roles are closely aligned with 2-3 Team consultants to maximise teaching, support and supervision as the trainee progresses toward increasing independent practice.½ - 1 term of advanced gynaecology: including colposcopy, general gynaecology OPD and theatre.Ad hoc weeks attached to the Flying O&G team: working with the allocated consultant to provide gynaecology outpatient and operative services to rural and remote areas of south-west Queensland.All trainees are expected to be involved in rostered education sessions, audit, policy review and have the opportunity for involvement in further research.About you We are seeking an accomplished and enthusiastic Registrar (or experienced non-training registrar) who is looking to build upon their skills in general obstetrics and gynaecology.
