We are seeking Expressions of Interest from General Medicine Service Registrars for Fixed Term Full Time opportunities for 6 and 12 months commencing in February 2025, with the possibility of extension(s). This position will be based in Bunbury. Position Profile: Within Bunbury Hospital, General Medicine manages patients across 2 wards encompassing 62 beds.
General physicians are responsible for leading 5 medical teams and working within a multidisciplinary framework of care.
As a Service Medical Registrar, you will be an integral part of the team and will work closely with the consultant group, advanced trainees, and other doctors in training (RMOs and Interns).
Working under consultant supervision, your clinical responsibilities include managing new referrals and existing inpatients within General Medicine.
Your duties also include full history taking and examination, ordering and follow-up of appropriate investigations, and liaison with patients, family, and other healthcare providers.
Non-Clinical opportunities are encouraged and include participation in safety and quality improvement activities.
Bunbury Hospital is currently accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians for 24 months of Basic Physician Training and will be part of the WACHS Physician Training Network for candidates interested in pursuing a career as a rural physician from 2025.
