The Position:

The RUSON works as part of the healthcare team, assisting registered nurses with direct patient care (within defined parameters) and other activities as directed in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the delegation, and supervision, of qualified and experienced registered nurses.

In this position you may work across a variety of areas at BRHS, including the acute wards, Emergency, Oncology, Dialysis, Home Based Nursing and Aged Care. Your role will be in accordance with the specific ward duty list and under the direction and support of a registered nurse.

Criteria Required:


A current student undertaking an approved Bachelor of Nursing degree course at an Australian University

Successful completion of at least 12 months' of the above degree course

Developing clinical assessment skills.

A good understanding of & commitment to providing patient centred care with a compassionate approach.

Capacity to work in an effective and collaborative manner as part of a multidisciplinary health team.

Effective communication skills with the ability to utilise key principles to ensure good clinical support and care within the scope of the role.
