This state of the art new ward is fit for purpose for this unique ward that covers up to 7 different surgical specialties providing a diverse range of surgical nursing skills. Where You'll Be Working:Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Selection Criteria: Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife. Demonstrated recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse that applies to a surgical clinical setting Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and be able to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others. Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations. Current computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems. Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement person-centred practice. Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to patient care. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload.
