Registered Nurse - Student Midwife (504598) Location: Australia, Tas Application Deadline: Sep 6, 2024 About Tasmania Government About the Tasmanian State Service The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.

Role Responsibilities: Provide quality, clinically appropriate midwifery care in partnership with women and their families/significant others and other health professionals while undertaking study to achieve registration as a midwife.
The Team: Hospitals North provides antenatal, intrapartum, and post-natal care to approximately 1600 women per year.
Midwifery students are supported through their study period with paid clinical placement hours of between 48 and 64 hours per fortnight.
Launceston offers a supportive and friendly team environment, along with beautiful natural landscapes.
Details of Appointments: Multiple fixed-term, part-time, shift-worker positions working up to 64 hours per fortnight, commencing from 10 February 2025 for a period up to 18 months.
Note: hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $75,902 - $102,908 pro rata per annum, with an 11.5% superannuation contribution on top of this amount.

You'll have access to salary packaging and a range of benefits, including living expenses and meal entertainment if eligible.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
In addition, the following allowances may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.
Minimum Requirements: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Confirmation of enrolment in a midwifery course accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Current Working with Children Registration.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job must satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, which includes conviction checks in areas such as crimes of violence, sex-related offences, and serious drug offences.
