ACCORD CARE is trusted in the provision of person-centred disability support services to NDIS participants.
We provide Supported Independent Living, In-home care, Community Participation, Short-Term Accommodation, Community Nursing, and Allied Health Services.Position PurposeThe purpose of this role is to provide direct nursing support to participants and ensure their health, safety, and well-being by providing individualised support and training for support workers that will enable them to achieve their goals of living an independent and fulfilling life.SkillsClient-focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels – written, phone, and face-to-face.Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.Computer literacy: demonstrate basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and email correspondence.Confidentiality: ability to ensure client privacy and protect confidential information.Flexibility: ability to work flexibly across a variety of settings, shift times, and locations.Teamwork: ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships.Time management/organisation: the ability to prioritise and accomplish tasks effectively within the given time frame.Driving: ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and adhere to road rules and safety.CompetenciesPreferably a minimum of one year of experience supporting people with disability or mental health conditions and/or with complex and multiple care needs.Preferably with a minimum of one year of experience in a community nursing role.An understanding of the term "implementation of Restrictive Practice".Good practical and/or theoretical knowledge of working with people with challenging behaviour.Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary qualification in Nursing and AHPRA Registration.Proven knowledge and understanding of working in individual support or Allied Health environments.Must have DVA experience.Ability to assist in the creation of a positive approach to behavioural changes, to develop greater client communication, and to provide quality assistance within Disability Support.Experience leading care teams and ability to resolve conflict.Demonstrated experience in developing plans, writing reports, and ensuring compliance.Ability to work autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team.Proven ability to maintain work quality and performance during tight schedules.Ability to build and maintain strong community connections and relationships with service providers, individuals, and/or families/carers.A commitment to the Code of Conduct.Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills, written & verbal communication skills.Ability to adapt communication style to meet people's needs.Strong administrative skills; time management, coordination of tasks, efficient work practices.Excellent computer literacy confidence and capability in using systems and technology.High levels of professionalism and ability to provide support to complex care clients and stakeholder groups during crisis periods.Knowledge of NDIS and Medicare is highly regarded.Personal AttributesProfessional approach (essential)Confident manner (essential)Ability to work under pressure (essential)A positive approach to change (essential)Creative and innovative (desirable)What we offer:Part-time/Casual positionsCompetitive Pay Rates plus 11% super5 weeks Annual LeaveOnsite TrainingOpportunities for Career Progression#J-18808-Ljbffr
