JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation. Coordinates the activities provided by the support service department relating to the assigned patients.
Job Specific: Knowledgeable in Cardiac and Peripheral Anatomy and Physiology. (EF)Accurate Documentation and charging. (EF)Proficient in administering drugs used in the Cath lab. (EF)Critically thinks and anticipates the needs of the patient and/or physician.Proficient in identifying and using Cath Lab Equipment. (EF)Coronary vs. PeripheralMonorail vs. Rapid exchangeIntra-Aortic Balloon PUMPLVADBalloon vs. StentCompliant vs. Non-compliantTemporary PacemakerAtherectomy deviceHemodynamic Monitoring EquipmentParticipates in the safety management and infection control programs. (EF)Performs, supervises, and/or directs the nursing care of the patient by performing the duties of the circulating nurse based upon hospital policies / procedures and the AORN Standards. (EF)Directs and/or assists, as necessary, with the cleaning, sterilization, and storage of instruments, equipment and supplies. (EF)Administers medications, starts intravenous infusions, and assists anesthesia personnel as needed. (EF)Assists with the orientation of new personnel. (EF)Proficient with scrubbing Cardiovascular procedures (EF)Takes call as assigned. (EF)Hospital: Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital's Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.Performs within his/her professional Scope of Practice at all times.Other Duties As Assigned: Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Currently registered with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.Minimum of 1 year of acute care setting.BLS.PREFERRED: ACLS.Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred but will consider Emergency Department or ICU applicants.ACLS required within 6 months of hire date.COMPANY PROFILE Citizens Medical Center is a not-for-profit, community hospital known for compassionate patient care, clinical expertise, and bringing advanced medical services to the South Texas region since 1956.
