Your new role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse (RN1) to join our Wintringham – Hobart Residential Home on a Full-Time basis. This exciting position will ensure that all residents are provided with a secure, friendly environment where individual choice and decision making is encouraged while providing a quality service which maintains and enhances the independence of residents and maximises their lifestyle options.
You will be required to fulfill the needs of residents and support staff in the provision of clinical care. As a key 'go to' Registered Nurse (RN1) Grade 2 for the team, you will have an excellent understanding of current best practice guidelines and be confident in providing clinical and operational advice and guidance.
Your roster will be as below:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (0700 – 1500)
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (0700 – 1500)
Reporting to the Site Manager, your responsibilities and duties will include:
Providing emotional and behavioural support to residents.
Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs.
Undertaking detailed clinical assessments of residents (including medication management), seeking assistance as required, and completing a detailed report of interventions and outcomes.
Administering Schedule 8 and PRN medication.
Developing an expert knowledge of residents' health and reassessing regularly through undertaking 'Resident of the Day' reviews.
Being responsible for regular review and update of allocated care plans.
Assisting residents with personal care, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and other activities of daily living.
Observing and reporting changes in resident behaviour or physical condition.
Maintaining appropriate documentation as required.
Pursuing ongoing development in order to enhance knowledge of contemporary practices and broaden understanding of own responsibilities.
What we require from you:
Bachelor's degree in nursing (or equivalent).
Current AHPRA Registration.
Previous experience as a Supervisor/Team Leader is highly advantageous.
Experience in Aged Care and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills – written, verbal + interpersonal.
The ability to manage effectively with conflicting deadlines.
Proven ability to lead a team of multi-disciplinary staff.
The ability to enhance or maintain our resident's independence and lifestyle.
A friendly, approachable and non-judgmental attitude.
