Contracts: 1 x Ongoing, Part-Time, 24.0 hours per fortnight 1 x Casual relief position Please specify your preferred contract in your application A rare opportunity has arisen for skilled Registered Nurses with surgical nursing or perioperative experience to join our dedicated Surgical Services Access Unit team. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a new challenge in a rewarding and diverse role.
The Position: Reporting to the Elective Surgery Access Coordinator, this role works across the areas of Preadmission Clinic, Elective Surgery Access Service and at times, the Day Procedure Unit. The role of the Surgical Services Access Unit is to facilitate safe and timely preparation of elective surgery patients for surgery, with a focus on patient centred, integrated care at all times. 
Key responsibilities include; the effective triaging or waiting list referrals, ensuring all pre-operative patients receive appropriate pre-surgery nursing and medical assessment. Annual leave and sick leave cover for the Surgical Services Access nursing team is also a requirement of the role.
