About the Role: This is a Fixed Term Full Time position 76 hours per fortnight for 12 months commencing in February 2025 and based primarily in community mental health.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) and Australian Nurses and Midwifery Council standards. This is done by providing comprehensive, safe and evidence-based practice across a range of contexts. You will facilitate optimal health outcomes, perform self-assessment of scope of practice, and competence related to your assigned responsibilities.
What You'll Achieve: Integrate your nursing and health care knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide safe and effective careDevelop skills in assessment, formulation, diagnosis and treatment of child and adolescent mental health disordersParticipate in professional development to enhance nursing practice aligned with expectation of the RCH-Postgraduate Program under guidance of Mental Health Clinical Education TeamDemonstrate analytical skills in accessing and evaluating health information and research evidence.Practice in accordance with legislation affecting nursing practice and health care.Your Skills and Experience: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Minimum of 12 months clinical experience or completion of a graduate mental health nurse programDemonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional practice PortfolioWell-developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbalDemonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously as requiredThe Community Rotation: This position offers the opportunity to work specifically in the community and specialist teams. You will work primarily in one of our community teams at Travancore which provides care for children aged 0-11yrs and their families, and in our In2School Day program which caters for children and young people presenting with school refusal.
