Registered Nurse (Oncology) – Icon Cancer Centre Hobart

We are now looking for Registered Nurses to join us onpart-timebasis as we've nurses moving into new positions and expected growth in the next few months!

Permanent, Part-Time (options for Full-Time)

If oncology nursing is new to you, then do not let that dissuade you. Icon has an extremely strong governance to support you with onboarding and credentialing. You will work supernumerary until you are signed off as a proficient oncology nurse receiving one on one training throughout.

As you progress to higher responsibilities above the RN level, of course the remuneration will continue to rise to reflect the higher duties.

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses to join our team at the Icon Cancer Centre Hobart, with the opportunity for nursing across our radiation and medical oncology/haematology departments. This position will report to the Nurse Manager and will focus on the delivery of exceptional personalised cancer care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities: Contribute expert advice and demonstrate contemporary nursing knowledge and skill in oncology nursing practice in accordance with current legislation and professional standards and codes of practiceMonitoring and administering medication and intravenous anticancer infusionsPatient assessment, observation and education including expert management of treatment related side effectsInserting and care of peripheral and central access devicesAssisting doctors with procedures and providing pre and post procedure care and educationMaintaining and updating patients written and electronic recordsProviding emotional support to patients, families and carersSupport the Nurse Manager in the day to day operationsSupport a high performance culture that delivers quality patient care services through a patient centric and collaborative approach Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Within Medical Oncology, this position involves the administration of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and related blood and supportive treatments. Within Radiation Oncology, this position involves the proactive nursing care to support patients through their treatment. If cross skilled there will be potential opportunity to work across both the Medical Oncology Day Hospital and the Radiation Oncology Departments.

2 years recent experience in medical oncology/ haematologyand/orradiation oncology nursing (desirable only)Current AHPRA registration.Demonstrate a commitment to the provision of exceptional patient centred care.Advanced communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work autonomously and positively as a member of the multidisciplinary team.Must bevaccinated against Covid-19a vaccine approved by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation How to Apply:
