We support newly graduated Midwives in order for them to consolidate their midwifery training across all areas of maternity including antenatal, birth suite, and postnatal. We are looking for midwives who are passionate about providing women-centred care based on best practice principles. We provide Professional Development Days including practical skills sessions that are focused on new graduate learning needs. The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is the major referral hospital in Northern Tasmania. As a Registered Midwife, you will be part of the team that delivers approximately 1,600 newborn babies each year. With a 6 bed Labour Ward, 30 bed Maternity Unit, and 9 bed Special Care Unit, your work will be fast-paced and very rewarding.
The role:
The Registered Nurse - Midwife strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing and midwifery care in partnership with women, patients/clients, their families, and other health professionals. Details of Appointments:
Multiple fixed-term, part-time, shift-worker (fully rotational) positions working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from 5 January 2025 until 5 July 2025. Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary:
$75,902- $102,908 per annum (pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and as a Registered Midwife Current Working with Children Registration
