The Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Gosford Hospital is an excellent facility with a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary healthcare team committed to excellence in patient centred care.
This unit has 24 general acute mental health care beds and 6 High Dependency (HDU) beds.
With a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator and an experienced team, you will be supported to grow within your clinical practice and pursue your professional goals.

An Eligibility List (E-List) or talent pool may be created from this recruitment episode to assist in filling future permanent, temporary, or casual full-time and part-time positions. The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute Care Team (ACT) provides expert advice to consumers, conducts clinical mental health assessments, and provides consultation to carers and other health professionals within the defined specialty area.
This position will provide acute care, case management, and crisis intervention to the Central Coast community.
You will promote a client-centred, family-friendly / carer supportive approach in working with consumers with mental health-related illnesses/disorders. You will accept and triage referrals received from inpatient and community mental health services, General Practitioners, and other Government and Non-Government organisations. You will have achieved a relevant level of training and experience to provide mental health clinical expertise and nursing knowledge.
You have proven communication and interpersonal skills and can maintain high standards of knowledge and skills by participating in ongoing education. You will work a rotating 7-day roster within the team and may be required to support other mental health teams to provide safe and effective care. About You You possess current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Desirable to have experience in the mental health clinical specialty, but not a requirement. A commitment to quality improvement, practice development, and evidence-based practice. You are motivated to learn and grow within a dynamic field. You have an understanding of team nursing and a demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
