Registered Nurse – Medical Unit About the role Mater Private Hospital Townsville are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our medical unit. The successful applicant will secure Permanent Part Time employment working 32 hours a week. It is a requirement that you are able to contribute to the rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, nights. The Medical Unit offers a variety of opportunities to care for patients that have specialised care needs. This includes rehabilitation, oncology, hematology, and general medicine. The Medical Unit is a supportive team of Nurses, Doctors and Allied Health staff who together care for patients, carers and family whilst they are at Mater hospital.
Salary range: $41.47 - $53.30 per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging up to $15,900 annually What you'll be doing Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater. Key duties and responsibilities will include:
Utilising a structured approach, carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients,Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions,Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures,Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups,Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices,Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines.About you To be successful in this role you will possess:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)Minimum of 2 years recent experience within an acute medical settingHigh level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time managementThe ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environmentDemonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solvingAvailable to work across all shiftsDemonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data.Mater is committed to the wellbeing of their staff, and it is underpinned by our flexible and remote working policies.
