Registered Nurse Level 2 – Orthopaedics About the role Mater Private Hospital Townsville is currently offering two exceptional opportunities for skilled Registered Nurses to join our esteemed Orthopaedics ward at a Registered Nurse Level 2. We have two contract options available: a permanent part-time position with a 0.8 FTE, as well as a 6-month fixed-term contract with a 0.8 FTE. As a member of our team, you will be expected to work diligently across all shifts, including morning, afternoon, and night rotations.
As an enthusiastic and dedicated Clinical Nurse, you will work as part of a resilient, adaptable, and proactive Orthopaedics team, continuing to provide exceptional care to patients and seamlessly integrate to hit-the-ground-running. You will provide technical assistance during procedures, always ensuring excellent standards of nursing care. You will also work closely with patients and their families, ensuring they experience a sensitive, welcoming, and friendly environment at all times.
Our Clinical Nurses provide additional leadership and advanced clinical competency to our Nursing Team. You will use your extensive experience to provide mentorship and guidance to assist in the professional growth of less-experienced nursing team members, supporting the Nurse Manager in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the Clinical Stream and assist with skill development.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit, you will be responsible for:
Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care.Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care.Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision, along with staffing within budget requirements.Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth.Providing educational support to the nursing team and students, including the orientation of new staff.About you You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic area.
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions).At least 2 years' experience in Orthopaedics.Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or working towards (desirable).A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels.Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, and strong listening, negotiation, and decision-making skills.Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate management and workloads.Strong knowledge of continuous improvement processes, coupled with the proven ability to initiate, coordinate, and evaluate quality improvement measures.Demonstrated knowledge and application of Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control, and Clinical Risk policies are also of value.Applications close Friday 29th November.
