Clinical Forensic Medical Service (CFMS) comprises 3 services – Forensic and Medical Sexual Assault Care (FAMSAC), Clinical Forensics ACT (CFACT), and Fitness to Drive Unit (FTDU). Care is provided across all three services by Forensic Nurse Examiners (FNEs).
FAMSAC provides a specialist service encompassing forensic evidence collection, medical assessment, and follow-up care for adult and adolescent victims of sexual assault.
CFACT operates under a contractual arrangement between ACT Health and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), ACT Policing. The FNE provides triage and support services, along with medical care and management to those in police custody at the City watch house, and assessments to Police Officers with minor injuries or occupational exposures sustained while on duty.
Cognitive screening and associated assessments are conducted in the Outpatient Fitness to Drive Medical Clinic (FTDMC).
Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to: Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening, and Vaccination policy.Be eligible to hold and maintain a baseline AFP security clearance.Note: This is a part-time permanent position available at 32:00 hours per week and the full-time salary noted above will be paid pro-rata.
