Enjoy great rewards and benefits PM and Night Duty Shifts - (Night Duty has Additional Remuneration) 2 x Permanent Part Time Opportunities Salary Packaging benefits up to $15,900 annually to maximise your take home pay Bupa Health Insurance and Goodlife Health Club discounts    Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for helping older adults improve their quality of life?    If so, then we want to hear from you! Come join our dedicated Residential Care Team at McCracken Views in Victor Harbor!       About the role   Liaising with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager, you will direct and deliver high-quality nursing care to our clients.   Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  Leading and supervising support provision for daily living in accordance with each residents care/ service plan Leading and promoting social and physical engagement in all resident interactions Assessing resident's condition and functional ability and ensuring risks are identified, managed and evaluated, discussed with relevant staff/each resident or representatives and included in their care and service planning Ensuring optimal use of medications, monitoring for adversity and administering in a timely and safe manner Providing leadership, direction, support, mentoring and coaching to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance and Administration staff on each shift Ensuring there is a clear and succinct handover from shift to shift and relevant documentation in the 7 day handover sheet correlate with the progress notes, alert notification form, care plan suggested change forms and risk management plans Ensuring all staff read and comply with all policies, procedures and work instructions relevant to them   For further details regarding the scope of the role, please refer to our website or the attached position description.     About you   We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.   The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience: Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse At least 1-2 years of experience working as an Registered Nurse in an Aged Care Environment Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand, as well as the ability to read written instructions and to write clearly and concisely particularly in progress notes Exceptional time management skills to manage own workload to meet deadlines and to support other staff Outstanding problem solving skills to balance supporting resident's desire for independence and self determination to make their own choices against potential risks and duty of care High level understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours Understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimum levels of funding are achieved Excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge including of medicines used in aged care Excellent knowledge of the Aged Care Standards particularly as they relate to accreditation     About us Southern Cross Care is one of Australia's leading charitable aged care and retirement living service providers.
