About the role Liaising with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager, you will direct and deliver high-quality nursing care to our clients. About you We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience: Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse At least 1-2 years of experience working as an Registered Nurse in an Aged Care Environment Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand, as well as the ability to read written instructions and to write clearly and concisely particularly in progress notes Exceptional time management skills to manage own workload to meet deadlines and to support other staff Outstanding problem solving skills to balance supporting resident's desire for independence and self determination to make their own choices against potential risks and duty of care High level understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours Understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimum levels of funding are achieved Excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge including of medicines used in aged care Excellent knowledge of the Aged Care Standards particularly as they relate to accreditation About us Southern Cross Care is one of Australia's leading charitable aged care and retirement living service providers.
