The Opportunity MinRes is currently seeking applications for an experienced Registered Nurse to work in a GP and Health clinic at Osborne Park. The position is a full-time role working a Monday – Friday roster. The Registered Nurse will deliver quality care to candidates and employees under the direction and supervision of the Manager – Health and Medical Centre. You will play an integral part that facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care, whilst demonstrating a positive commitment to Regulations, Acts and Policies relevant to nursing including the Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Standards for Practice for Nurses.
Your primary responsibilities will include: Providing evidence-based occupational health nursing services to candidates/employees in accordance with the MRL Health Centre Services and in liaison with the Practice Manager. Completing various medical assessments for pre-employment medicals, ensuring each assessment is conducted to a high standard. Managing vaccination programs in conjunction with GP. Documenting abnormalities detected in a candidate/employee's health status and informing the appropriate personnel. Assisting with daily clinical calibration and maintenance of medical equipment to ensure accurate and reliable assessment results. Assessing the need for, and undertaking patient education, to provide appropriate information in relation to procedures and treatment. Adhering to all relevant Regulations, Acts, and Professional Codes while delivering occupational health nursing services. Demonstrating a commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining the highest level of professional conduct in all interactions with candidates, employees, and colleagues. Actively participating in the maintenance of a safe work environment. What is required? Registered Nurse with unrestricted AHPRA registration (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency). Desirable skills in both GP nursing and ED/urgent care nursing. Skills in general health checks and preventative health. Comfortable with discussing basic blood results with patients or willing to learn these skills. Extensive knowledge of AS/NZS 4308:2008 – Procedures for specimen collection, detection and quantification of drugs of abuse in urine. Extensive knowledge of clinical governance, safety and quality requirements. Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills. Manage vaccination programs in conjunction with GP.
