Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering the clinical care and governance of the organisation's Wellbeing framework and fostering a culture that is reflective of Bethel Disability Services' Vision, Purpose, and Values.
The registered nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the holistic well-being of the participants.
The RN will also provide guidance and support to disability support workers to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
The RN shall coordinate allied health professionals to provide clinical services to the participants and demonstrate effective internal and external stakeholder engagement.
The RN will train, lead and direct care staff in the provision of individualised care, wellbeing and leisure and lifestyle activities to participants and optimise their service delivery by driving education that is reflective of their roles, responsibilities and learning needs.
Through kind and caring efforts, the RN leads and engages staff in consumer-focused service and operations to ensure the highest standards of service delivery in a nurturing and supportive environment that gives consumers greater emotional, social, and physical wellbeing and regards their individuality, dignity, and respect.Clinical Care:Conduct comprehensive health assessments of individuals with disabilities.Develop, implement, and manage individualised care plans based on assessment findings and in consultation with the participants, their family, and the multidisciplinary team.Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.Provide community-based nursing cares to participants.Ensure infection control practices are maintained in accordance to community nursing.Monitor participant's health status and response to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary.Collaborate with other health care professionals such as doctors, therapists, and social workers, to provide coordinated care.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all nursing interventions and client interactions.Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance the delivery of care.Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards in healthcare practice.Train support staff in high intensity nursing procedures.Partnering with HR Manager and Clinical Manager, attend performance reviews for all direct staff.Compliance to the risk management methodology reacting to identified risks and implementing appropriate controls.Work closely with the Clinical Manager and Team Leader to ensure the best care and outcomes for clients.Manage the clinical needs and requirements for the participants.Partner with Clinical Manager/ Team Leader to attend the initial participant meetings and attend to the risk assessments and update in participant documentation.Dealing with clinical complaints, conflicts, grievances, and misconduct.Coordinating workplace health and safety initiatives.Demonstrated capacity for initiative and innovation.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a diverse team.High level of motivation, positive attitude, and strong problem-solving skills.High emotional intelligence when dealing with a broad range of stakeholders.Record all work as per the organisation's requirements.Compliance:Participate in internal reviews as per the schedule, complete reports, and feedback as per time frames and ensure appropriate monitoring of compliance.Assess and recommend appropriate risk management strategies.Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.Compliance is maintained.
Breaches are investigated and actions taken to correct and produce sustainable prevention strategy.Manage WHS issues pertaining to buildings, environment, and people.Staff are trained in emergency systems and procedures.Liaise with various departments to ensure optimum care levels and services for clients.Requirements:Registered Nurse, currently registered with AHPRA.
Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communication.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Ability to use online web applications.Experience with creating a culture of engagement, collaboration, and teamwork.Capable of compiling and analysing employment data to guide strategic planning.Any other duties outlined by the Manager as required.Knowledge of NDIS practice standards.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Commitment to provide person-centred care.Working Conditions:This role may require working flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to meet client needs.The RN may be required to travel to participant homes or other community settings.Physical requirements:The ability to assist the participants with disabilities to move.The ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks requiring manual handling.
