#528154 Registered Nurse Surgical (Ward 4B) Calvary Mater Newcastle Permanent Full-Time Permanent Full-Time Salary Classification: Registered Nurse, Year 1-8 Remuneration: $35.32-$49.60 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's THE ROLE: The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment.
Suitable applicants will have the opportunity to develop skills in surgical nursing with the support of an educator. Skill development available for patients requiring 1:1 acute post-operative care.
Ward 4B is a 30-bed ward caring for adult patients from surgical specialties. The surgical specialties include but are not limited to: General surgery, Colorectal, Gastro, Plastics, Skin lesions including melanoma, oncology-based surgery including mastectomy and breast reconstruction (DIEP) and cardiothoracic.
DUTIES: Implement planned care as delegated. Document nursing care in patient records. Maintain an effective personal and professional development plan. Plan appropriate care following assessment in consultation with the patient. Support and inform patients and their families to ensure any direct impact on patients and their families is understood to enable patients to make informed decisions. ABOUT YOU: Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Recent demonstrated experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting as a Registered Nurse Ability to work unsupervised and proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
