You'll work within a supportive team of 10 Registered Nurses, 2 Medical Administration Officers and our part-time GP.
We're looking for someone with great observational skills and the confidence to do systematic clinical assessments on prisoners.
Duties in the role include: Undertaking clinical assessments on prisoners which could include taking blood, checking blood pressure, temperature checks, dipstick tests, checking bowel sounds, urinalysis, and more.
Issuing medication like insulin & methadone - Thursday is a particularly busy medication day onsite.
Wound care & assisting with work injuries.
Providing and receiving support from our onsite GP.
Assisting with unexpected events, such as reported chest pain.
Remuneration Registered Nurses are paid under the Registered Nurse Award Level 2.4 rates, which is an approximate annual salary of circa $95,000.
We also provide a $100 Mount Gambier Prison Nurse Allowance on top of the rates below: Weekdays - $38.36 Saturdays - $57.54 Sundays - $67.13 You will also receive a $10,000 retention bonus after 12 months in the role.
What we're looking for A completed Bachelor of Nursing Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA) Previous nursing experience as a Registered Nurse Based in Mount Gambier or happy to relocate to the area Holder of professional indemnity insurance, or willing to get this before commencement (most nurse unions provide this for members) Holder of first aid & CPR, or willing to get this before commencement (we can pay for this and enrol you in a course) The G4S recruitment process Apply online with your CV.
