Nursing - Aged Care (Healthcare & Medical) Yura Yungi Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation (YYMS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health service that provides holistic primary health care to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Halls Creek and surrounding communities. As part of YYMS, Menkawum Ngurra focuses on our vision to deliver culturally-appropriate aged care services to elderly people in Halls Creek and surrounding areas. Role Overview: The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering and directing holistic nursing care to consumers of Menkawum Ngurra Elder's Residence while providing clinical oversight and supervision for all other clinical and domestic staff. The Registered Nurse works closely with the Clinical Care Coordinator and Management teams to ensure that the care provided meets relevant industry standards and adheres to Australian healthcare legislation and the aged care standards. The Registered Nurse will contribute to a professional and compatible work environment by providing a helpful, efficient, and courteous service to residents, family members, staff, and volunteers that reflects the positive corporate image of Menkawum Ngurra.
Key Responsibilities: Uphold the rights and dignity of all consumers and staff.Foster a positive climate for staff growth and team cohesiveness.Model holistic care for residents.Deliver direct nursing care and manage individual care plans.Oversee clinical processes, including admissions and care planning.Lead and participate in a multi-disciplinary care team.Manage PCAs and ensure safe, high-quality care.Respond promptly to clinical and personal care needs.Promote a safe and healthy physical and psychosocial environment.Document care processes and outcomes accurately.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.Stay updated on contemporary nursing and healthcare practices.Ensure confidentiality of consumer and staff information.Manage resources effectively within the nursing department.Adhere to Equal Opportunities and Disability Discrimination legislation for a discrimination-free workplace.Key Requirements: Bachelor of Nursing.Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).Demonstrated competence in nursing practice.Experience providing care services to the aged and Aboriginal people.Experience in developing and implementing care plans.Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.Ability to handle information confidentially.Current 'C' class driver's license and access to a roadworthy vehicle.Current First Aid/Basic Life Support certificate.Satisfactory Police Clearance.Relevant experience and/or post-registration qualifications in gerontic nursing or related specialties.Experience providing care to the Aboriginal aged.Sound computer skills.Apply Today: If you are passionate about delivering exceptional clinical care and improving the quality of life for our residents, we invite you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
