The Registered Nurse Diabetes Education Training position is an opportunity to enhance your skills to provide nursing services within the specialised field of Diabetes Education. The Registered Nurse will gain valuable clinical experience in the area of diabetes education to complete hours required to achieve accreditation as a Credentialed Diabetes Educator.
Position Type: Temporary part-time for 12 months (40 hours per fortnight)
The registered nurse supports excellence in nursing care and patient outcomes, is a competent clinician who provides nursing care with clinical competence and capability, optimising access to care services. The registered nurse works in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide person and family centred, quality, safe patient care.
The Registered Nurse Diabetes Education Training Position provides contemporary, evidence-based nursing services and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). This is evidenced by educational preparation, continuing professional development, adhering to relevant legislation and the context of care.

Contemporary clinical knowledge in Diabetes education and management, delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.Ability to communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of professional nursing care.Ability to educate, inform, counsel and support patients and families on general and clinical information relevant to patient's care, accessing the Clinical Nurse when expert advice is required.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills.A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.Mandatory Requirements:Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.About West Moreton HealthWest Moreton Health is one of the most rapidly evolving health services in the south east corner, with a community growth expected to almost double to more than 588,000 by 2036.
