You will make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals, who are experiencing alcohol and other drug dependence and/or mental health issues and are at risk of experiencing homelessness. This role not only offers a chance to apply your clinical expertise but also provides the satisfaction of knowing you're part of an organisation committed to positive social change.Your ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive clinical healthcare services, including detox, for clients with substance dependence, mental health issues, and/or experiencing homelessness.Collaborate with Freeman House management for client intake and assessment, ensuring seamless coordination.Maintain effective communication and liaison among clients, healthcare team members, and Freeman House staff.Manage access to a variety of medical services including GP, Podiatry, Optometry, Psychiatry, and others, alongside mental health support and detox services.Coordinate and develop health services in alignment with Freeman House management, contributing to operational protocols and procedures.Facilitate communication between medical practitioners and pharmacies, oversee medication administration, and maintain accurate records for residential clients.Provide supervision and mentorship for medication assistance staff.Support clients with challenging behaviors as needed.Deliver holistic nursing care following Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council standards, accurately documenting client care using electronic health records.You Will NeedRegistered General Nurse with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a generalist setting.Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Capacity to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients, staff, management and external agencies.Interest in and understanding of issues relating to homelessness and substance dependence/mental health.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Comprehensive clinical knowledge, particularly in alcohol and other drug dependency.Understanding of and commitment to continuous quality improvements.Ability to prioritise and manage workloads according to client needs.Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and/or their families/representatives.Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.If this sounds like you, don't wait - we are interviewing applications as we receive them.Any queries please email St Vincent de Paul Society (NSW) welcomes people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, and experiences.
