This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent, Fixed Term, and Casual appointments at various hours per fortnight. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/04/2025. The Great Southern region of Western Australia offers a diverse range of natural attractions, including rugged coastlines, sandy beaches, forests, wildflowers, and the highest peaks in the south.

The Regional Health Service includes a main facility in Albany, supported by Multi-Purpose Service sites in Bremer Bay, Denmark, Gnowangerup, Jerramungup, Katanning, Kojonup, Plantagenet, Ravensthorpe, and Tambellup.
Combining Public Health services with Nursing, Allied Health, and Aboriginal Health programs, we focus on preventing disease and improving health outcomes.
About the Opportunity: Great Southern Mental Health Service (GSMHS) offers specialist mental health care, including acute inpatient and community services, to clients across the Great Southern region.
With multidisciplinary teams based in Albany and Katanning, GSMHS delivers high-quality outreach services to the Lower and Central Great Southern areas.

This role involves providing inpatient mental health nursing care and clinical supervision to healthcare staff and students, ensuring excellence within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities include: Assess, plan, implement, facilitate, and evaluate patient care to ensure quality outcomes.Coordinate multidisciplinary services to deliver high-standard healthcare.Identify and address patient education needs, including planning and coordinating education programs.Facilitate nursing activities and perform as shift coordinator when required.Participate in improvement and research initiatives to enhance healthcare services.Contribute to unit-based decisions, supporting organizational and regional objectives.Support staff development through competency-building, organizational skills training, and performance management.Ensure the safe, efficient, and effective use of resources, assisting with unit planning.Promote education activities, including orientation, preceptorship, supervision, and validation programs.Adhere to standards for Equal Employment Opportunity, Occupational Safety & Health, Public Sector Standards, Codes of Conduct and Ethics, and the Disability Services Act.Perform additional duties as directed by senior staff.Join us and be a part of a supportive, collaborative team working towards improved health outcomes for our community.
