About youThe Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals with a wide range of cancer diagnoses and blood disorders within our Medical Oncology and Haematology units (day and inpatient).

These are Registered Nurse Level 1 roles, reporting directly to the Clinical Manager of either the day centre (Kimberley House) or inpatient ward (St Helen).
There is opportunity for full-time and part-time roles across both or one area.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Assessment and Monitoring: Conducting thorough assessments of patients undergoing cancer treatments or managing hematologic disorders. Monitor vital signs, assess side effects, and evaluate responses to therapies.Medication Administration: Administer chemotherapy drugs, biological therapies, and supportive medications according to protocols and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.Patient Education and Support: Provide education to patients and their families about the disease process, treatment options, and symptom management. Offer emotional support and resources for coping with the challenges of cancer or blood disorders.Collaboration in Care Planning: Work closely with oncologists, hematologists, and other healthcare team members to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Adhere to regulatory requirements, protocols, and best practices in oncology and hematology nursing care.What you bringCurrent registration AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, demonstrating compliance with professional standards.Proven recent experience in oncology and haematology nursing, with a deep understanding of related clinical practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building effective relationships with patients and colleagues.Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity.A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation.For further informationPlease contact Deb Daulby, Deputy Director of Clinical Services (Inpatient Areas) on .
