Nurses deliver health services which enhance and promote the health of people in prison through evidenced base, comprehensive and professional nursing care within a prison setting.
A transition program to support your orientation and practice within the corrections environment is available to all new nurses who have not previously worked within corrections, setting you up for success.
Opportunities exist for Full-time, Part-time and Casual registered nursing staff. Nursing Staff will be employed under the terms of an Enterprise Agreement.

Registered Nurse salary range $71.6k - $98.3k. Annual increments to salary for Enrolled and Registered nurses Competitive Shift and Weekend Allowances. Registered Nurse position description. Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate will have: Essential: Appropriate nursing qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum one year of post-registration clinical experience. Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing the role. Ability to plan and coordinate patient care. Competence in clinical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to contribute to the professional practice within the health facility. Competence in written and verbal communication skills.
Basic level of computer literacy. Clinical experience in primary health care is desirable. Other Requirements of the role: Valid Australian driver's licence. Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare. Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.
