The ward admits a diverse range of general surgery and vascular patients, from emergency cases to elective procedures, encompassing varying levels of complexity.
As a Level 6 service, they manage the most complex and highly specialised surgical procedures and complications.

Located in Hobart Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing general and vascular surgeries, including colorectal, breast, endocrine, and gynaecological surgeries.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage diseases of the venous, lymphatic, and arterial systems through medical management, interventional radiology, minimally invasive endovascular procedures, and open surgeries.
Support patients with minor and major amputations, ensuring comprehensive care and rehabilitation.
Work closely with the Stomal Therapy Department to deliver care management, post-operative review, education, and discharge planning for patients with new and complex stomas and fistulas.
Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Contribute to a positive and supportive ward environment, fostering teamwork and professional development.
Selection Criteria Current registration with AHPRA, with no restrictions National Crime Check within the past 12 months Experience in general and/or vascular surgery nursing is highly desirable Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Must have full Australian working rights (Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship).
