Practice Nurse – General Practice The Junction NSW Exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our busy private billing medical practice - Casual 3 to 4 days per week, assisting with sick leave and annual leave relief as needed.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our general practice team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare to our patients, supporting both clinical and administrative functions within the practice.
Essential selection criteria required: • Current AHPRA registration
• CPR/BLS Certification
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
• Working with Children's Check and willingness to complete a Police check
The Role Tasks will include but are not limited to:
Wound care Recalls and Reminders Triage management Immunisation and travel vaccination administration Chronic Disease Management - Assist in the management of chronic diseases and provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention. Health Assessments - conduct patient assessments and screenings, including vital signs, health history, physical examinations and ECG's Treatment room assistance as required - assist the Doctors with routine procedures such as minor excisions, wound management and implanon insertion/removal Patient education, support and building links to the community Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with practice policies and procedures Manage inventory and ordering of medical supplies and equipment. Required Knowledge and Experience The successful applicant will have:
Background working in a busy General Practice and/or primary health setting Experience in Chronic Disease Management and Health Assessments an advantage The ability to perform all general practice nurse duties, such as immunisations, cold chain management, procedure assistance, wound dressing and stock ordering Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care to people with complex needs or persons that come from a range of backgrounds and age demographics Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, with the skills to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines Ability to manage within a workplace setting with fluctuating levels of demand. Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to respond to patients' needs in a friendly manner A team focus and flexible approach to work The ability to manage reminder and recall systems effectively Experience with Best Practice (an advantage) National Immunisation Program for Healthcare Practitioners course certification or working towards (an advantage) We offer opportunities for professional development and continuing education.
