Casual Registered Nurse position at Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre.

Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Registered Nurse to join our Radiation Oncology Department, part of the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) About the Department Austin Health operates two radiation oncology centres in Victoria.
The metro hub based at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer, Wellness& Research Centre (ONJ Centre) in Heidelberg and the Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre (BAROC) incorporated in BRICC.
Both centres provide multi-disciplinary care, a variety of nursing and allied health services, innovative and progressive approaches to treatment underpinned by the guiding principle of patient centred care and wellness for all patients and their families.
BAROC is located in the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC), servicing patients from the Grampians Region of Victoria.
BRICC is a purpose-built regional cancer centre, also inclusive of a Wellness Centre.
BAROC is equipped with two Varian Trilogy linear accelerators, Siemens CT simulator, and will soon introduce superficial radiotherapy (SXRT) onsite.
We provide an outreach service, including SXRT, fortnightly to Stawell.
About the role A regular day will see you: Coordination of patient care throughout the radiotherapy journey with other health services and professions Educating patients and families about the side effects of treatment and how to manage them Assessment, monitoring and documentation of anticipated toxicities Managing symptoms associated with cancer treatments Offering psychosocial support and referral when required.
