Registered Nurse - Family Healthcare SupportThe Royal Children's Hospital's (RCH) Vision is "A world where all kids thrive".

RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds. Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.

The Role: There are Part Time and Full Time positions within the Family Healthcare Support.
This role works across Family Healthcare Support, providing clinical care to families and education and training to in-home support workers in the school and home. This is a state-wide program therefore regional travel will be required with adequate notice and planned accordingly.
Classification for this position will be YU15 ($102,278 base salary per annum, plus superannuation).
You Will be Responsible For: Providing family-centred care through a holistic approach using systematic assessment of child's medical needs in conjunction with their psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs.Planning and implementing nursing care for patients in the Post-acute Care service, Homecare Program, School Care Program and Family Healthcare Support.Facilitating the training and assessment of support workers for in-home care for eligible patients.What You'll Achieve: Comprehensive and systematic nursing assessment to improve the quality of nursing care.Using a range of assessment techniques to collect relevant and accurate data.Ensuring appropriate information is developed and maintained to support the delivery of community care.Providing clinical advice regarding non-urgent nursing or medical queries.Your Skills and Experience: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously as necessary.Demonstrated excellent time management and organisational skills.Proven ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in performing duties.Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible to changing priorities and environment.Minimum of 3 years pediatric nursing experience.If this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.
About Family Healthcare Hub: The RCH Family Healthcare Support Team provides trained workers to care for children with medical complexity at home. This provision allows parents of children who require frequent medical interventions the time to rest and attend to other responsibilities. Support shifts are provided for eligible children known to the RCH Complex Care Hub or through NDIS funding. Workers are based throughout the state of Victoria and provide care to children in their local area. This remote workforce is coordinated through a central team onsite at the RCH.
Family Healthcare shifts are provided by a trained support worker who undertakes child-focused training and operates within strict parameters clearly documented in a child's specific care manual. Workers maintain a safe environment for the children they support, delivering all care required during the shift, including identifying and responding to predictable changes in care.
