Where you'll be workingPort Macquarie Base Hospital, a 228-bed level 5 facility, serves as a hub for the Hastings Macleay community, offering tertiary level care and career development opportunities. The bustling and dynamic Emergency Unit handles over 160 presentations daily, featuring a new Paediatric Emergency Unit, Fast Track Department, and Short Stay Unit to enhance patient flow. The Emergency Team, comprised of highly skilled professionals, collaborates closely to deliver optimal outcomes for their patients.What you'll be doing The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality person centered nursing care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards for Practice for Registered Nurses, and the Policies and Procedures of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD). This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined under the General questions section at Occupational assessment screening and vaccination - FAQ Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s. These awards are available at http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx. A TALENT POOL MAY BE CREATED FOR FUTURE ROLES AND WILL REMAIN VALID FOR 18 MONTHS. Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1). Demonstrated recent clinical experience in emergency, critical care or relevant acute hospital setting. Demonstrated ability to use problem solving skills and a multidisciplinary team approach in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care. Demonstrated effective communication through the use of technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others. Knowledge and understanding of person-centered care, evidence-based practice and quality improvement. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to practice in accordance with legislation, policies and within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse. Availability and capacity to participate in a 24 hour/seven-day rotating roster which includes working all shifts, all days of the week including public holidays.
