Whilst you will be based in the Day surgery area, you will have the ability to pick up shifts across the other surgical wards in addition.

We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park.
The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit.
A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region.
Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include: Undertake acute nursing care in accordance with legislationDeliver evidence-based nursing careLiaise with the multi-disciplinary teamEnsure patient and staff safetySupervise, direct, and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient careProactively assess the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual/patientComplete all required documentation in accordance with local and National PoliciesEssential Criteria: Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered NurseMinimum of 3 years' relevant post registration qualificationsDemonstrated experience working within an acute surgical unit– Preferably in a Day Surgery, Admissions, or Recovery settingDemonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiative using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team.Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient-centred care;Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills.Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night dutyApplications close: 16th September 2024
