The Rapid Assessment Medical Unit (RAMU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital is a medical short-stay (up to 72 hours) inpatient unit.
The Role: The Rapid Assessment Medical Unit (RAMU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital has been uniquely designed to provide care for a defined cohort of patients who receive general medical service at the RHH. While RAMU is part of the general medical service offering, its point of difference is being a medical short-stay inpatient unit offering ward-based, interdisciplinary team care led by general medical consultants, to patients who meet the admission criteria.
You will need: Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing/midwifery principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a relevant clinical setting and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), Registered Nurse or Midwife Standards for Practice, and other relevant professional standards. Demonstrated ability to use clinical coaching principles to support professional and clinical development of novice nurses and midwives. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing or midwifery management team, and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Details of appointment: Permanent, part-time, day worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing from January 2025. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $96,558 - $102,908 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse or a Registered Midwife.
