Ipswich Hospital's new Mental Health Acute Inpatient Service (MHAIS) provides the local community with a world-class mental health rehabilitation and recovery facility.
Purpose-built and with a focus on recovery and social connection, the $104.6 million Ipswich Hospital's Mental Health Acute Inpatient Service state-of-the-art facility includes spaces for adult patients, older and vulnerable patients, and patients requiring more intensive clinical care.
Among the features are internal green spaces, natural light and a sensory room to encourage wellbeing and recovery, as well as ping pong and chess tables, a gymnasium, and gardening and barbecue facilities.
Multiple casual opportunities available! The registered nurse supports excellence in nursing care and patient outcomes, is a competent clinician who provides nursing care with clinical competence and capability, optimising access to care services.
The registered nurse works in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide person and family centred, quality, safe patient care.
The Registered Nurse Mental Health Acute Inpatient Service (MHAIS) provides contemporary, evidence-based acute mental health inpatient nursing services and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
This is evidenced by educational preparation, continuing professional development, adhering to relevant legislation and the context of care.
About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Contemporary clinical knowledge in acute mental health inpatient service nursing, delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.Ability to provide patient and family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Nurse.Ability to educate, inform, counsel and support patients and families on general and clinical information relevant to patient's care, accessing the Clinical Nurse when expert advice is required.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.Ability to provide clinical education and support.Current Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 or working towards obtaining.Post graduate qualification in mental health nursing would be desirable.Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).About West Moreton Health West Moreton Health is one of the most rapidly evolving health services in the south east corner, with a community growth expected to almost double to more than 588,000 by 2036.
